Join the YMCA Advocates Action Network Today!

Join today to receive action alerts on topics of importance to the Y nationally and statewide!

Everyone can be an advocate - anyone who cares about strengthening community should join the Advocates Action Network.

Step I – Encourage staff and volunteers to join the YMCA Advocacy Action Network

By joining the Network, you will receive regular news and alerts, and you will be able to track relationships you’ve built with the legislators in your area and more. Use this flyer to educate and recruit.

Step 2 – Schedule Y Board Advocacy Training

Contact the Alliance to schedule training for your YMCA Board. The Board will receive education on why the Y advocates, what we advocate about, and how they can play a role. Each Y Board will be asked to nominate an Advocacy Champion, or even create a Public Policy Committee.

Step 3 – Join us for State Advocacy Days or visits to see lawmakers

Each year, the YMCA of the USA hosts National Advocacy Days in Washington, DC, in the winter. Ask your Y leadership about attending. Every odd year, the Alliance hosts State Advocacy Days in Raleigh in March.
