February is American Heart Month. Because the Y is our state’s leading organization committed to strengthening communities, your Y has a unique opportunity to serve as a trusted source of quality health information in service to our statewide effort to improve the health of North Carolinians.

Many people do not know that the American Heart Association recently updated its guidelines for what it means to have high blood pressure. What this now means is that nearly half of all Americans (46 percent) have high blood pressure. High blood pressure is “The Silent Killer” because there are typically no warning signs or symptoms.

Y-USA has provided ready-to-use materials to help you educate your members and the entire community about how to care for their hearts.  Join our statewide effort to support February American Heart Month.
