On June 17, Molly Thompson joins the NC Alliance of YMCAs as Vice President of Alliance Services. With this addition to the team, the Alliance will be fully staffed under the new structure.
Molly has been a YMCA professional for nearly 20 years; most recently, she has been VP of Community Relations and Communications at the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. In her new role at the Alliance, she will provide direct services, including strategic planning, board governance, conversations about shared services, and local advocacy. Molly will also be our lead on crisis communications, which is a need identified in our fall 2018 assessment.
Molly will continue to be based in Charlotte. She will join Walt Reynolds, also VP of Alliance Services, in providing services primarily to small- and mid-sized YMCAs, while Sheree Vodicka, CEO, will focus on the larger associations.
Molly has two daughters, a rising senior at UNC-Chapel Hill and a rising senior in high school, as well as two unruly dogs. Her husband is a college professor; they met as camp counselors at the Alexander YMCA in Raleigh when it was the Central YMCA. Welcome, Molly!
