Move More, Walk Now Workshop September 20

Move More, Walk Now Workshop will be held in Cary on Wednesday, September 20, 2017  from 9:30–3:30 at the Embassy Suites, 201 Harrison Oaks Blvd., Cary. This event, sponsored by Eat Smart, Move More North Carolina, supports the NC Alliance of YMCA's Walkability Grant funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This funding in 2017 paid for crosswalk paint for eight Active Routes to School projects across the state.

During this workshop led by Mark Fenton, a national expert in walking and walkability, you will participate in a walkability audit in a local neighborhood and LEARN:
• Ways to promote walkability in your community,
• How to create “pop-ups” and ways to make your neighborhood more walkable, and
• About the campaign to get North Carolinians moving called Move More, Walk Now.

MARK FENTON, our workshop facilitator, is a national public health, planning, and transportation consultant and former host of the America’s Walking series on PBS television. He’s a vocal advocate for non-motorized transportation and a recognized authority on community and environmental initiatives to encourage more walking.
