We're so proud of the impact NC YMCAs are having in their communities across the state. From child care to feeding programs, from virtual evidence-based health program delivery to outreach for seniors and others at risk, our Ys have continued to strengthen community, despite significantly decreased revenues since mid-March.
As a nonprofit, the YMCA funds its operations from membership and program fees. We raise charitable funds to provide community outreach and financial assistance to help those in need. Operational revenue helps fuel impactful community efforts.
The emergency child care and other services that the Y has provided during COVID-19 while gyms and schools have been closed represent expenses. These services were made possible by generous donors and members who converted their membership dues to charitable donations to serve those in need.
As we continue to provide critical community support statewide to youth, families and seniors, YMCAs will need increased support from our legislators, corporate partners, state and local governments, and philanthropic organizations.
